SUSTAINABILITY
The horticultural sector is well advanced in sustainable production and these developments are not standing still at Levoplant either. In order to save fossil fuels, we obtain part of the heat for our locations from the earth. Solar panels on the roofs provide part of the electricity requirement. The light for the growth of the plants comes almost entirely from LED lighting. We also use heat and cold buffers for cooling and heating.

We are committed to using less plastic in the sales stage. For example, with paper as wrapping material for full trolleys. Levoplant has also developed a cardboard tray, unique due to its high loading rate. Because 10 trays fit on a layer, the number of transport kilometres can also be saved.
A consortium of four leading companies, namely Solvent Engineering, Levoplant, Ter Laak and Opti-flor, have jointly developed the 'potweb'. This groundbreaking product is the solution to combat the pot worm in the cultivation of beautiful Phalaenopsis orchids in an environmentally friendly way. The development of the 'potweb' has won the Greenovation Award 2023 from Royal FloraHolland.
The demand for innovations like these not only comes from legislation and regulations, but also from the growing social need for a more sustainable world. 'Potweb' actively contributes to promoting sustainability in Phalaenopsis cultivation and thus lays the foundation for a 'license to produce' in the future. This ecological form of crop protection will make a significant contribution to the sustainability of potted plant cultivation, allowing consumers to enjoy beautifully flowering orchids for longer.
